Coffee beans from which have at least 97% caffeine removed by different ways most them include water, organic solvent, or carbon dioxide. A typical cup of coffee contains between 70-140mg of caffeine. Caffeine can influence the central nervous system. It can lead to sleep problems, restlessnesss and discomfort.
Don’t panic I am not going to say you need to quit caffeine. Decaffeinated Coffee gives us better sleep and less Anxiety. It helps to absorb the nutrients more efficiently. It can balance hormones for women. It maintain the blood pressure And also balanced the brain chemistry.
In addition it contains antioxidants and also minor nutrients. One cup of decaf coffee provides 2.4% of the recommended daily intake of magnesium, 4.8% of potassium, and 2.5% niacin or vitamin B3.It can also help to keep healthy digestion. It has remains high anti-oxidants and nutrients that found in regular coffee, including some magnesium, potassium and B vitamins. It can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and certain forms of cancer as well as liver protection.
Decaffeinated coffee can reduce the risk of heart burn symptoms like when drinking the decaffeinated coffee it certainly reduces the risk of that uncomfortable pain. It can also prevent from the mental decline.
But the new study now point out the some compounds in decaf coffee also help to enable steady weight loss, regulate the blood glucose level and also reduce the fat production. It can also prevent the diseases like Alzheimer and Parkinson’s. Decaf coffee may lower mortality thanks to its positive effects on risk factors like inflammation and depression.
The simplest method is solvent decaffeination. In this solvent is used to remove caffeine from coffee beans. Methylene chloride and ethyl acetate. In direct solvent extraction coffee beans are steamed then soaked in solvent to remove caffeine before being steamed, dried and roasted.
In indirect solvent extraction beans are soaked in hot water. The water is then mixed with a solvent to remove caffeine, before flavors in the water are returned to the beans. The next method is water decaffeination. First in swiss water decaffeination soaks beans in hot water to remove caffeine and flavour compounds.
Caffeine is removed by water in filtration but flavor compounds are remains. The flavor saturated water removes caffeine from further bean batches without flavor loss. In French water decaffeinating soaks beans in hot water for 24 hours. The beans are removed and dried. Then water is filtered to remove the caffeine. At last the caffeine free water is added in dried beans to absorb the flavour compounds.
